Financial Information

The staff at the Surgery Center of Decatur will help guide you through the financial process of preparing for your surgery. All financial arrangements need to be taken care of prior to the date of the surgery, including paying any deductibles and/or co-payments. A member of the Business Office team will contact you prior to the day of your procedure to review your financial responsibility, and to answer any questions that you may have regarding your benefits.

Medical Insurance

The Surgery Center of Decatur accepts most major commercial insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Tricare, NAMCI, and most other workers compensation plans. The Center will bill your insurance company as a courtesy; however, any remaining balance due is the responsibility of the patient.

Please bring completed insurance forms, as well as any medical information that would assist in the registration process. Please check with your insurance company for pre-admission requirements, such as second opinions and/or pre-admission certification. This will expedite the admitting process.

Fees

The Surgery Center of Decatur charges a facility fee for each surgical procedure performed by the physician. This facility fee includes, but is not limited to, the following: the cost of a pre-operative evaluation, nursing personnel, use of the operating room, medications, supplies, special equipment, and the recovery room. You will receive a separate bill from your doctor, anesthesiologist (if one is needed for your procedure), and any other professional services you may receive, such as laboratory, radiology, or pathology.

Uninsured and/or Self Pay Patients

Uninsured and/or self pay patients will be required to pay for services on or before the admission date, unless other arrangements have been made with the Center.
